Amy is a sex worker. Her sister, Rosana, is a radical lesbian. They are both feminists. Together, they reveal everything in this powerful and joyous performance, exploring female sexual identity, feminism and choice.

Sister weaves together their autobiographical stories of growing up, individual contrasting sexual experiences, pole dancing, lap dancing and childhood family videos in an intimate strip club setting, which they inhabit, subvert and eventually deconstruct.

Sister is a bold and unflinching performance, in which Amy and Rosana attempt to understand their own and each other's sexual identities and uncover new feminist possibilities. The unique collaboration began when the pair danced naked in Nic Green's award-winning feminist performance, Trilogy, at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2009.

Rosana Cade is a Glasgow-based artist whose solo work and research is routed in queer discourse. She received the Athena Award for Walking:Holding in 2011, which has since toured extensively, including as part of SPILL National Showcase 2013. Rosana is also a co-founder of //BUZZCUT//, a collaboration dedicated to creating exciting, experimental events for live performance.

Sister has been developed in association with The Arches, and with support from the National Theatre Studio and Battersea Arts Centre. It premiered at Behaviour 2014 and is part of the Made in Scotland Showcase.
