Aubrey Dan is pleased to present live onstage, the Canadian classic Anne of Green Gables - The Musical ™ , a co-production between Dancap Productions Inc. and The Charlottetown Festival, P.E.I. Based on L.M. Montgomery’s popular novel, Canada’s longest-running musical and a most beloved export; Anne ™ brings Montgomery’s pages to life onstage. It tells the story of freckle-faced Anne Shirley with her fiery temper, passion for melodrama and penchant for misadventures as she brings laughter, love and more than a little consternation to the village of Avonlea. Anne ™ runs from May 7 to 24, 2009 at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre, 189 Yonge Street (at Queen). Tickets are available now by phone at 416-644-3665 or online at dancaptickets.com and start as low as $25. Opening night is Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 7:30pm.

Anne ™ has graced our stage for 44 consecutive years. More than 2.3 million people have seen our production in Charlottetown. It is almost 18 years since we last staged Anne ™ in Toronto, and we could not be happier that Dancap Productions is bringing Canada’s favourite redhead to Toronto,” says David MacKenzie, CEO of the Confederation Centre of the Arts.

Anne ™ stars Amy Wallis as Anne Shirley, Janet MacEwen as Marilla Cuthbert, Sandy Winsby as Matthew Cuthbert and Sean Hauk as Gilbert Blythe. The company comprises: Robert Allan, Krista Blackwood, Robin Calvert, Alanna Chisholm, Dean Constable, April Cook, John Edwards, Gerrad Everard, Craig Fair, Ashley Fenster, Terry Hatty, Alana Hibbert, Zak Kearns, Kieran Keller, Glenda Landry, Wade Lynch, Andrew McAllister, Charlotte Moore, Julain Molnar, Laura Nason, Catherine O'Brien, Shawna Van Omme, and Ryan Wilson.

Anne of Green Gables - The Musical™ is directed by Anne Allan with musical direction by Donald
Fraser and was written and composed by Don Harron and Norman Campbell respectively, with lyrics by Elaine Campbell and Mavor Moore.

The performance schedule is as follows: Wednesdays at 2:00pm and 7:30pm; Thursdays at 11:00 am (May 14) or 2:00pm (May 21) and 7:30pm; Fridays at 7:30pm; Saturdays at 2:00pm and 7:30pm; and Sundays at 2:00pm.
