In the tradition of SUBMISSIONS ONLY, BroadwayWorld is proud to announce that Season 2 of the critically-acclaimed comedy webseries THE RESIDUALS will premiere exclusively on BWW in early 2015. THE RESIDUALS' team is now in pre-production for its second season, featuring guest stars Horatio Sanz (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), Jenna Leigh Green (SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH, Broadway's WICKED), and commercial acting legend Michael Torpey.

In preparation for THE RESIDUALS Season 2, which will be seen exclusively here on BroadwayWorld, we checked in with some of our beloved characters to see what they're up to during the hiatus. Here are the first three videos in nine-part teaser series. The next three will be available next week.

When I first sat down to write Season Two of 'The Residuals,' the first question I had for myself was about the 'big picture.' Do we make this season about a big overall storyline, or do we abide by Larry David's 'Seinfeld' rule of, 'No hugging, no learning'?

I didn't get into this business to be the first actor, or the only actor. I'm pretty sure some Greek person locked that up a few thousand years ago. So why, after not a whole helluva lot of years out of college, did I greet news of my friends' and acquaintances' successes with little more than fear and self-consciousness? Furthermore: why did I even greet news of their failures and setbacks (real talk, now) with some sub-level of relief? Why don't we like each other's work more often? Why is it easier to watch a stranger's work than someone we know? Why; for that matter, do some of the greatest actors this world has to offer get crapped on via the anonymous internet every day? BWW---I submit to you now---that the response to those questions, and to your impulses to do the same, is that it shouldn't be that way, and it doesn't have to be.

In Season One of our webseries THE RESIDUALS, my wife and I managed to learn countless skills on the fly. One thing that we were able to postpone learning was the skill of crowd-funding. Until now! It's on, BWW. And here's what I've learned so far.

It's the perfect time to catch up with 'The Residuals,' the hilarious New York City based comedic web series set in the world of television commercials and auditions. Created by and starring husband-and-wife team Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle, 'The Residuals' is inspired by their experiences as actors auditioning for commercials in New York City. Season One episodes average about 7 minutes and give viewers an inside view at the bizarre world of auditions, callbacks, costume fittings and commercial shoots. One of the highlights of this spring for me has been stumbling across the hysterical new webseries, THE RESIDUALS, and through social media, connecting with its creators. I have been fortunate enough to talk to many of the show's cast members for BWW articles (I will put links at the end of this one). I recently spoke to Nick Costa, who plays main character Pete's roommate Keith, about his experience with THE RESIDUALS and his own webseries THE COFFEE SHOP SHOW.

As a general journalistic rule, if you are going to be writing an article, a stand-up comic is a terrible interview subject if you are looking for controlled, measured responses. However, if you are ok with the interview occasionally going off the rails and having to turn the volume up really loud on the interview tape just to hear answers through the laughter, then go for it.

If you are a BroadwayWorld regular, you will recognize Mark Gessner as Eric Mousse, the quite, crossword playing cast member of JEREMY'S FORT on SUBMISSIONS ONLY. Also, if you have watched TV in the last decade, chance are good that you've seen him in some very popular commercials. Recently, Mark has been a member of the first season of the hit webseries THE RESIDUALS. Recently, Mark spoke to BWW about his experiences on popular webseries, why SUBMISSIONS ONLY star and writer Kate Weatherhead is like Derrick Jeter, and his role on the upcoming Starz series POWER alongside 50 Cent.

Described by friend, and co-creator of THE RESIDUALS, Michael Paul Smith as the 'Unofficial Mayor of Midtown,' James Tabeek has appeared on Broadway in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, TABOO, and MARY POPPINS, and on tour with WICKED. However, recently, James has been subtly moving his career away from the stage towards screens of all sizes. His first step in this new direction was in the first season of the hit webseries THE RESIDUALS. The comedy tells the tumultuous stories of actors auditioning for commercials. James plays Devan, the assistant to hot-headed casting director Mark Lyell (played by SUBMISSIONS ONLY's Mark Gessner).

After nine hysterical episodes, the Season 1 finale of the comedic webseries THE RESIDUALS is finally available today, and it just might be the funniest episode yet. In this episode Pete sees his Clyde's spot, while Ellen sees the Bua spot she missed out on. Also, Pete and Keith write for their series, but get distracted when Valerie only friend requests one of them. And Pete observes business as usual in the commercial world.

As far back as when Gillian and I first started dating, we always wanted to help each other however we could, and to be included in each other's projects whenever possible.
