Besides sharing what lucky attendees can expect from his 54 Below shows, Vereen also shares preliminary plans to bring a new biomusical to Broadway some season soon as well as the forthcoming release of a star-studded documentary all about his iconic show business legacy planned to be released later this year. Additionally, Vereen reflects on a number of recent milestones and looks back at some of his most memorable movie musical work in honor of the 45th anniversary of the release of SWEET CHARITY last month, plus the brand new Blu-ray editions of FUNNY LADY and ALL THAT JAZZ now available. One of the most idiosyncratic and undeniably gifted composers and lyricists to emerge this century, Michael Mott has taken the theatre world by storm with his absolutely spectacular collection of compositions titled WHERE THE SKY ENDS: THE SONGS OF MICHAEL MOTT and now Mott discusses the finer points of his newest release extensively as part of a fresh multi-part series analyzing his theatre and pop work, old and new. In today's discussion, Mott and I analyze his brand new collection of pop remixes for the WHERE THE SKY ENDS standout 'Gone', featuring a spine-tingling track that exclusively premiered on this site earlier this week, 'Gone (Adam Zucker French 75 Mix)', which is available here. Mott lays out the groundwork of the pop-based roots for the tune, largely inspired by the work of chart-topper Jason Mraz, as well as sheds some light on his desire to create a remix EP reminiscent of superstar Mariah Carey and her iconic remix albums of the 1990s and 2000s. Additionally, Mott goes inside the process itself and offers the full 411 on what made these exceptional remixes a reality as well as the accomplished producers he collaborated with to make the remixes all a reality. InDepth InterView: Beowulf Boritt - Part 1: An Inside Look At Manhattan Concert Productions' PARADE

Today we are analyzing all aspects of the hotly anticipated concert event that occured at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall on Monday featuring an all-star cast performing Jason Robert Brown and Alfred Uhry's Tony Award-winning score and book - the Manhattan Concert Productions presentation of PARADE. Outlining his involvement in the unique theatrical event is acclaimed and versatile Tony Award-winning set designer Beowulf Boritt, who opens up about the exciting and idiosyncratic nature of a one night only event such as this as well as the opportunities available in designing for such a spectacular evening in order to bring his artistic vision to fruition. In addition to a thorough discussion of the themes and actual real history elemental to the musical itself and how Boritt has integrated those features into the visual landscape of the piece, he also sheds some light on the intensive design process and intimate collaboration with director Gary Griffin, composer/lyricist/conductor Brown, projection designer Jeff Croiter and lighting designer Jon Weston. Also, Boritt offers a first look at his inspiration for the design elements being created especially for the evening and how he is utilizing vintage photographs and actual historical pieces to maximize authenticity and accuracy in portraying the musical based on a true story occurring in 1915. All of that and much, much more in this expansive design-focused special feature with one of Broadway's brightest behind the scenes visionaries.
