Tonight's the night! The 76th Annual Tony Awards are now underway. Joaquina Kalukango performed 'Wishing You Were Somewhow Here Again' from The Phantom of the Opera during a special 'In Memoriam' performance at The 76th Annual Tony Awards.

J. Harrison Ghee has won the 2023 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for Some Like It Hot. J. joins Alex Newell as the first gender nonconforming performers to win a Tony Award. In their trip to the press room, J. discussed the impact of his take on Jerry/Daphne in a show that celebrates nonbinary identity.

Tony nominee Macy Schmidt has just made history at this year’s Tony Awards, capped by taking center stage at the prestigious ceremony. Schmidt served as orchestrator of the opening and closing number, as well as on-camera piano soloist, performing alongside several Black and Latina soloists from the Broadway Sinfonietta, who were also shown on stage.

When Michael Arden accepted his Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for staging the new revival of Parade on Broadway, he was censored while discussing his upbringing. Read what he said during the acceptance speech!

Bonnie Milligan has won the 2023 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for Kimberly Akimbo. In her visit to the winner's room, Bonnie discussed the process of building the musical's twisted fairy godmother Aunt Deborah and what she has taken out of portraying her casually criminal alter-ego.

Brandon Uranowitz has won the 2023 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for Leopoldstadt. In his visit to the winner's room, Brandon celebrated the impact of Tom Stoppard's epic drama and reacted to his director, Patrick Marber's win in real time!

Broadway vet Noah Weisberg appeared in a musical ad for Impossible foods, called 'Making Meat History'. The TV spot premiered during the Tony Awards tonight, June 11. Watch the full ad here!

Ariana DeBose kicked off the big night with a dance medley. The song was decidedly lyric-less, and the rest of the show will also be unscripted, due to the WGA strike. This was referenced at the beginning of the show, when DeBose flipped through a binder labeled 'Tony Awards Script', full of empty pages.

Though Cost of Living played its final Broadway performance over seven months ago, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play certainly was not forgotten by the nominating committee of the Tony Awards. It was nominated for five awards, three of which for its stars- Katy Sullivan, Kara Young, and David Zayas.
