The one-night-only event continues to grow in popularity and success in supporting the work of Broadway Cares and the Center. Last year's record-breaking $281,200 topped the previous year's total of more than $186,700.

BROADWAY BACKWARDS Plays Tonight; Buckley, Boggess, Cariou & More!

BROADWAY BACKWARDS 7 will play Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre tonight at 8pm. The show will feature some of Broadway's biggest names singing songs originally written for the opposite gender: women singing songs written for men and men singing songs written for women. By keeping the lyrics intact, including the original pronouns, each song takes on a new dimension.

BROADWAY BACKWARDS 7 to Offer $40 Rush Tickets

A limited number of $40 rush tickets to the star-studded BROADWAY BACKWARDS 7 will be released for sale at 6:30 PM Monday, March 5, 2012. The rush tickets will be sold outside the Al Hirschfeld Theater (302 West 45th Street) and will not be available at the box office. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, cash only and are limited to two tickets per person. The show begins at 8 PM.

The one-night-only benefit will now also include Tony Award-winners Betty Buckley and LaChanze (Color Purple), stage and television star Michael Urie (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, TV's 'Ugly Betty') and TV icon George Takei ('Star Trek').

Perfromers for the event have just been announced, and included in the lineup are: Chita Rivera, Adam Pascal from Memphis The Musical, Andrew Rannells from The Book of Mormon on Broadway, Bruce Vilanch, Sierra Boggess, Telly Leung from Godspell & Glee, Bryan Batt, Robin de Jesus & Shawna M. Hamic from Les Miserables on Tour.

In thanks for Radcliffe's fundraising to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (HOW TO SUCCEED topped the Broadway collections this year, and Radcliffe often donated his time and efforts to the cause) the organization donated $50,000 to the Trevor Project in Radcliffe's name. Fred Ebb Foundation Donates $1.2 Million to Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) has just announced that its 2011 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will total $1.2 million dollars, marking the largest single contribution in BC/EFA history. The foundation, which is funded by royalties from the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb's vast catalogue of work, makes an annual donation to BC/EFA. This contribution tops last year's donation of $1 million dollars which was, at the time, the largest single contribution in BC/EFA history.
