Broadway's LES MISERABLES found a perfect, albeit slightly more youthful 'Jean Valjean' as part of its number at BC/EFA's 2015 Easter Bonnet Competition. 13-year-old Joshua Colley (who sometimes plays 'Gavroche') stunned the audience with his pro-level performance of 'The Confrontation' with current 'Javert' understudy John Rapson. The generosity of the American theatre community shined brightly as six weeks of spring fundraising raised another record-breaking grand total for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The 29th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition (#bwaybonnets) raised a remarkable $4,711,386, making this the third year in a row the event set a new fundraising record.

The annual fundraiser for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, dubbed the Shakespeare Benefit, will make its debut in LA this weekend, April 18th and 19th, 2015. The production will included Shakespeare scenes, monologues, sonnets, and songs featuring current students, alumni, administration and faculty. This is a pay-what-you-can event, and all proceeds will benefit BC/EFA.
