Luis A. Miranda, Jr. and Dr. Luz Towns-Miranda were honored at the New York Landmarks Conservancy's 'Living Landmarks' celebration, recognizing their contributions to the community.

Theater Resources Unlimited will present Meet the Coaches, during which actors can meet more than 10 monologue and music coaches, plus accompanists, who will share their methods and then meet individuals in breakout rooms.

From October 29 to November 20, 2021, SpeakEasy Stage Company will present the New England premiere of BLKS, Aziza Barnes' raucous comedy of misbehavior that it is also “serious and sad and profoundly human.” (New York Times).

The soprano Ah Young Hong, praised for her 'fearlessness and consummate artistry' by Opera News and called 'the opera's blazing lone star' by The New York Times, will appear in recital with pianist Jacob Rhodebeck Sunday, April 7, 2019, 7 pm, presented by Spectrum, Brooklyn's concert venue for new music, located at 70 Flushing Avenue, Garage A, (entrance between Cumberland and Carlton,) Brooklyn, NY 11205. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Mark Baker, a Broadway veteran and Tony nominee, passed away yesterday, August 13. He was 71 years old. 

The Juilliard School today announced that alumnus Wynton Marsalis, trumpeter, director of Juilliard Jazz Studies, and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, will address the graduates at the school's 113th commencement ceremony, which takes place Friday, May 18, 2018, at 11am in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. Mr. Marsalis received an honorary doctor of music degree from Juilliard in 2006. This will be the final commencement for Juilliard President Joseph W. Polisi, who has had a long association with Mr. Marsalis and asked that he be the commencement speaker. In July, Damian Woetzel will begin as the school's seventh president.
