Bachelor of Arts in Music - Digital Music Production

Minor in Music


Study music with internationally acclaimed and Grammy Award-winning faculty, participate in a diverse range of solo and ensemble performance opportunities, and engage with guest musical artists from around the world. Encompassing Music Technology, Western and non-Western music, and comprised of world-class faculty, the Whittier College Music Department offers a broad curriculum open to students who choose to major or minor in music, students who desire an ongoing involvement in music while at Whittier, and students who wish to explore music one course at a time. Our diverse range of courses includes such offerings as American Popular Music, History of Jazz, Music of Latin America, Music of Africa, Music Business and Music Production. Music students benefit from easy access to practice facilities, one-on-one mentoring and advisement with professors, and international travel programs. Students at all skill levels, regardless of major, can take private instrumental and vocal lessons. The department also has a library of instruments that may be checked out free of charge.

Teri Schwartz, Dean of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (UCLA TFT), one of the world's most prominent academic institutions for entertainment and performing arts education, announced today the appointment of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz as the school's second Hearst Theater Lab Initiative Distinguished Visiting Playwright-in-Residence. Cruz will assume his role for the entirety of the 2019-20 academic year.

The Kennedy Center Announces 50th KCACTF National Festival

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 50th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 16-20, 2019 in multiple locations throughout the Center. The Center also announced the national awardees for the KCACTF. Selected awardees and representatives will be brought to Washington, D.C. for an expense-paid trip to participate in the National Festival. These student artists from across the United States have been recognized for their outstanding work from the eight regional festivals that were held January 8 through February 28, 2019.
