Welcome to the Department of Music!
UNCW music students study with a dedicated faculty of internationally recognized artists and teachers, while enjoying small class sizes and extensive performance opportunities. Individual attention is the hallmark of the Department of Music at UNCW, as students and faculty work closely together to cultivate the fundamental concepts for lifelong learning, as well as developing the highest level of musicianship, creativity and scholarship related to teaching, performance, research, music technology and industry, and appreciation of music. In addition, the department is committed to enriching the quality of life within and beyond southeastern North Carolina by serving as a cultural and educational resource within the rich arts community in the region.

Northrop at the University of Minnesota announced today that Kristen Brogdon will join its staff as the new Director of Programming starting Jun 24. She will be responsible for conceiving, curating, developing, and implementing the artistic vision of Northrop's performing arts and related education programs in collaboration with all of Northrop's teams.

The Center for Ballet and the Arts at New York University (CBA), the first international institute devoted to the creation and academic study of ballet, today announced the 27 artists and scholars who will serve as CBA Fellows in the 2018-19 academic year. The group - which represents The Center's largest and most far-reaching cohort yet - features distinguished individuals in a range of disciplines, including scholar Cecile Feza Bushidi, lighting designer Brandon Stirling Baker, choreographer Chase Brock, choreographer, filmmaker, and dancer Pontus Lidberg, and scholar Janice Ross, among others.
