The Department of Film and Theatre at the University of New Orleans is committed to an interdisciplinary belief that film arts, theatre arts, and writing for production enrich one another. The Department of Film and Theatre fuses the artistic, technical and analytical dynamics of theatre and film in a collaborative environment, educating the next generation of professional storytellers. In accordance with this philosophy, the department undertakes to educate its students, enrich the UNO and larger community, and encourage faculty development.

Called “the funniest farce ever written”, it will run for five performances only from April 12 through 21 as part of JPAS's 46th season.

After five years, New Orleans based drummer/composer Jon Sheckler has announced the release of HIGHWAY 27. Following his critically acclaimed 2018 album Cityscapes, Jon went through a series of changes. During the pandemic, Jon moved from Brooklyn to New Orleans and enrolled at the University of New Orleans where he added to his impressive resume.

The Creative Co-Lab, in partnership with The Downtown Urban Arts Festival, is proud to announce casting for the showcase production of sTrapped, a new play by Arelia Johnson & Award-winning playwright Bryan-Keyth Wilson. Wilson is set to direct the piece, which follows seven strangers as they navigate conversations surrounding race, intimacy, trauma, sex, and sexual identity.

Detroit Rep Presents LIFE ON THE MOON

Detroit Repertory Theatre opens its 66th season with the long-awaited World Premiere of Life on the Moon by Anna Tatelman. The production was originally slated for the 2019-20 season and was canceled due to the pandemic. It's now opening on November 18, 2022, at 8:30 PM and runs until December 18, 2022 - a limited run compared to other Detroit Rep shows.
