The Department of Theatre and Dance is a collaborative community of performing artists and scholars – faculty, staff and students - aiming to achieve the highest level of excellence in their teaching, learning, research, creative endeavors and outreach to the community. Our students explore all aspects of the performing arts through classes, studios and hands-on experiences onstage and behind the scenes. Rooted in the liberal arts traditions, our theatre and dance program prepares students with the skills necessary to pursue a variety of careers in the performing arts and beyond.
Our student body currently consists of nearly 200 majors and minors across traditional and musical theatre and dance. These students are pursuing their degrees in acting, dance, design and technology and musical theatre. Additionally, students from across campus regularly engage in both production and course work to enhance their liberal arts education.
