The Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film is committed to the philosophy that prospective practitioners of theatre, film and new media must be provided with thorough education, training and practical skills for employment in industry and educational settings.
Teaching, research/creative scholarship, and service are the traditional and primary methodologies utilized to accomplish our goals. Additionally, the production of plays, films, and new media projects reflects the School's commitment to professional training in the educational environment. The School's production activities encompass all of our goals, relating them to theatre and moving image education and training.

Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film Has Announced a New Performance Faculty Member

The Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts has announced a new faculty member in performance. According to School Director, Christina Kirk, 'We are thrilled that Rafael Untalan has accepted the position as Assistant Professor of Practice in performance in the Johnny Carson School.' Untalan will begin teaching in the Fall 2020 semester.

The Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film announces a special production for the 2019-2020 season, JULIUS CAESAR by William Shakespeare. Performances are Thursday and Friday, January 23 and 24 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, January 25 at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm. Performances are in the Lab Theatre, third floor, Temple Building, 12th & R streets.

The Nebraska Repertory Theatre, Nebraska's Actors' Equity Association professional regional theatre, is pleased to announce its third production of the 2019-2020 season THE HOLIDAY CABARET. Performances are at 7:30pm Thursdays, December 12 & 19; Fridays, December 13 & 20; Saturdays, December 14 & 21; with 2:00pm matinee performances Sunday, December 15 and Saturday, December 21.
