Students in the Department of Theatre and Dance get hands-on training and one-on-one mentorship from a professional faculty and renowned guest artists in acting, directing, playwriting, theatrical design, and technology. From our mainstage productions to our student-produced shows, students have plenty of opportunities to participate on stage or backstage. Special programs include a musical theatre certificate, education abroad, as well as a thriving dance program that emphasizes technique, composition, performance, and production.

Since its inception, the tuition-free immersive arts education program has cultivated more than 8,500 student-artists from across the state, including a Grammy-Award winning vocalist, Tony-nominated actor, Kentucky Youth Poet Laureate and numerous creative leaders and engaged citizens.
