Frederick Renz, Founder and Director of the Early Music Foundation and the performance ensemble Early Music New York (EM/NY), announced at the end of EM/NY's concert on Saturday, May 13, 2023 that he is stepping back from public performances. No further concerts are planned for EM/NY at this time.

An Early Music New York season will cover a lot of ground, geographical as well as historical. The trajectory of EM/NY's 2022-2023 season describes a zig-zagging arc that originates in Italy in the early baroque period, and as the century progresses travels east to Austria and middle Europe, north to Germany, west to France and north to England.

EM/NY's men's voices and a versatile quartet of instruments will present five performances of 'medieval carowles,' 'masquing' tunes from Henry VIII's Book, ca. 1515 (Green Grow'th the Holly and Pastime with good company), and Advent, Nativity and Epiphany motets by William Cornysh, Christopher Tye and William Byrd.
