Detroit Rep Presents LIFE ON THE MOON

Detroit Repertory Theatre opens its 66th season with the long-awaited World Premiere of Life on the Moon by Anna Tatelman. The production was originally slated for the 2019-20 season and was canceled due to the pandemic. It's now opening on November 18, 2022, at 8:30 PM and runs until December 18, 2022 - a limited run compared to other Detroit Rep shows.

Three-time NBA Champion and two-time MVP Stephen Curry has joined forces with basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal to support the Academy Award® nominated short subject documentary “The Queen of Basketball” as executive producer with a mission to make Lusia “Lucy” Harris a household name. Harris died unexpectedly at age 66 on January 18.

Shaquille O’Neal has joined as executive producer of “The Queen of Basketball”, joining Lusia Harris to bring her powerful story to the big screen, inspire the next generation of female basketball players, and open a national conversation about mental health and athletics. The documentary is directed by Emmy® winning filmmaker Ben Proudfoot.

Winner of over 100 international awards, Les Miserables is an epic and inspiring story about the survival of the human spirit. The musical, based on Victor Hugo's novel, adapted for high school performers, features one of the most memorable scores of all time and some of the most memorable characters to ever grace the stage. This cast of nearly fifty students, hailing from twelve different schools from the Northshore area of the New Orleans Metropolitan area, is certainly fulfilling expectations. It is always a challenge to produce a show of this magnitude, but for Director, Brent Goodrich, being able to recruit talent from all over our community has made this production not only possible, but even more sensational.

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 9-14, 2018 in multiple locations throughout the Center. The Center also announced the national awardees for the KCACTF.
