Associate of Arts in Theatre - Technical Theatre


The Theatre Arts Department serves as an educational base, a vocational training ground and an artistic resource for the community. By combining production excellence with academic achievement, the Department fulfills its role as a leader in the performing arts in Orange County. Acting, directing, production, design and dramatic literature are all important facets of the Theatre Arts program. Technical theatre and theatre technology courses prepare students for the entertainment industry workforce with practical and theoretical experience. Each year the Department presents a diverse production season which combines high artistic standards with public appeal, and which challenges and expands the talents of students both on stage and behind the scenes.

Adam Hawley to Release New Album ESCAPE

The four years since dropping his debut album has been a bit of a rocket ride for award-winning R&B-jazz guitarist Adam Hawley. Six of his seven singles have gone to No. 1 nationally and he deftly avoided the sophomore slump when his second outing further established the artist as a centerstage solo artist. The stage is now being set for the February 28th arrival of “Escape,” his third album and first for his new record label, MBF Entertainment. Hawley produced and wrote eight of the record's ten tunes featuring collaborations with a constellation of smooth/contemporary jazz luminaries including Rick Braun, Najee, Michael Lington, Jeff Ryan, Marcus Anderson and Greg Manning.

88.5 FM Returns To Annual SXSW Music Festival For Sixth Year

For the sixth consecutive year, 88.5 FM will host SXSW Radio Day Stage performances at the annual SXSW Music Festival with sets from Field Report, Mt. Joy, Courtney Marie Andrews, Frank Turner, Kyle Craft, and Gordi. Set for Thursday, March 15 at theAustin Convention Center in Ballroom D, the live performancesare open to all SXSW badge holders and will be broadcast live on the air at 88.5 FM and at 885fm.org. Field Report will kick off more than six hours of live music beginning at12 Noon (CT)/10:00 AM (PT), with Gordi wrapping the day with a 5:00 PM performance.
