The Department of Music offers students a cross-disciplinary approach to the study and practice of music, underscored by real-world experiential learning, cutting­-edge technology, and a wide-angle focus on music’s impact on cultures throughout the globe. Music students at Northeastern are multi-talented, creative, entrepreneurial, and committed to finding innovative ways to make a positive impact on the world through a life in music. The Department of Music offers a flexible, student-focused, innovative array of curricular options for undergraduates, with a B.A. in Music, B.S. degrees in Music Technology and Music Industry, and a variety of combined majors and minors, in addition to a unique graduate program in Creative Practice Leadership with a variety of advising paths. Every member of our dynamic faculty, composed of distinguished research scholars, industry experts, and accomplished musicians, invests in the success of each student while developing strong relationships with real-world music professions. Students have access to exciting and invaluable experiential learning opportunities through co-ops, workshops, professional networking, and beyond.
