North Carolina Central University's Department of Theatre is listed among the top ten Theatre Schools at a Historically Black College of University by HBCU-Colleges.com. The department is designed to satisfy the needs of a broad range of enthusiastic students, give them the widest possible exposure to accomplishments in theatre, and provide experiences that will develop them as capable theatre practitioners. Five concentrations are available to Theatre majors: Performance, General Theatre, Technical Theatre, Theatre Education, and Dance Education. By offering a BA degree in Theatre, our practical concentrations prepare major to become performers, teachers, designers and technicians, production managers, media specialists, and dramaturgs.
