At Nebraska Wesleyan, the stage is your laboratory. You’ll learn more at NWU because you’ll experience every aspect of life in theatre. NWU Theatre produces 40+ shows running on 200 nights each year. Compare that to the production schedules at other schools. NWU faculty direct as many as 14 productions each year, including three to four musicals, Shakespeare and classic to modern dramas. And NWU students direct, write and produce an additional 20 or more plays annually. Get onstage sooner. All these opportunities mean you’ll perform during your first year. And you’ll hone more skills. Design costumes. Build sets. Learn makeup and lighting and directing and choreography. Be part of something big. Our experience-based approach draws 100 theatre majors from coast to coast. NWU Theatre is one of the largest and most diverse departments on campus. When it comes to building your experience on and off the stage, NWU Theatre outperforms everyone.

Review: THE REVOLUTIONISTS at Nebraska Wesleyan University Theatre: Not as simple as it appears
by Christine Swerczek - September 20, 2024

Nebraska Wesleyan University Theatre has a history of mounting an impressive variety of plays and musicals. Currently, Lauren Gunderson’s revolutionary play about four women during the 1793 Reign of Terror in Paris, is a compelling production running in the Enid Miller Lab Theatre. Some would call this a comedy. Some would see it as a drama. I see it as a piece that transcends definition and looks at revolution through female eyes.

BWW Review: SPRING AWAKENING at Capitol City Theater (Nebraska)
by Rosanne DellAversano - November 12, 2020

While scrolling on Facebook one day, I came across a post from a theater offering a streamed production of Spring Awakening. As I am a hardcore fan of the show, my interest was piqued. Then, I saw a post from a person involved with the theater asking if anyone in the Philly area would provide a review. Given I haven't written a theater review in oh, let's say, eight months, to do so would give me a brief moment of normalcy.
