The mission of Missouri Western’s music program is to provide a comprehensive curriculum and music instruction by faculty who are active locally, regionally and nationally as performers, conductors, researchers and educators. Missouri Western music students get many performance opportunities as well as individualized attention from faculty. Instrumental, piano and vocal soloists and ensembles are winning state and national awards, raising awareness and appreciation of the quality and exciting opportunities at Missouri Western.

Kansas City's New Opera Company To Perform Bon Operatit

Established to perform intimate and unique opera performances, Opera180 is launching its 2018 season with the highly interactive production of Bon Operatit. Performing at the Squeezebox Theatre on April 27-29, this exciting event will consist of three parts including composer Lee Hoiby's Bon Appetit based on Julia Child, a cooking demonstration by a local KC chef, and Jennifer Jolley's Krispy Kremes and Butter Queens inspired by the colorful Paula Deen.
