Due to overwhelming demand, Awakening Events today announced the spring extension of the Michael W. Smith 35 Years Of Friends Tour. The 17-city spring tour comes on the heels of a widely popular fall run that celebrated 14 sold out dates. “The fans made it clear, they want more Michael W. Smith, and the momentum of finishing this fall with all 10 of the final 10 shows being sold out left no doubt that we needed to extend this tour,” said Curtis Pinkerton Director of Marketing at Awakening Events.

When blind guitar legend Joey Stuckey gives inspirational talks about overcoming odds and helping people define success on their own terms, he's big on the concept of living a life of intention. Yet when the veteran blues rocker booked his progressive Americana trio into the legendary Sun Studio for a three hour session on an off day from their tour, he had no specific plan except to record a few originals and covers. Letting the legendary spirits in the room (Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Elvis, et al), the vintage 50's-60's equipment and the refreshing spontaneity of a live in the studio opportunity take over, Stuckey created In The Shadow of the Sun, the most unexpected and amazing full length album of his career.

The Presser Foundation is pleased to sponsor the February 17, 2019 Philadelphia Youth Orchestra (PYO) Concert being held in Verizon Hall at The Kimmel Center for Performing Arts. Beginning at 3 p.m., the concert celebrates the legacy of Michael Stairs, the renowned organist who has performed worldwide and made such a major impact in the Philadelphia area. Michael Stairs offered his musical contributions to PYO and last performed the Strauss and Saint-Saens selections in 2014 at the PYO 75th Anniversary concert being repeated at this PYO concert. The February 2019 concert features the extraordinary talent of two special guests - David Kim, Concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and Peter Richard Conte, renowned organist. It will showcase the 130 members of the ensemble, between the ages of 14 to 21 who are conducted by the esteemed Maestro Louis Scaglione.
Monica Titus to Premiere Solo Cabaret at Winter Park Playhouse

The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series will feature musical theatre professional Monica Titus in her brand new solo cabaret, Not Your Mama's Leading Lady, March 21 and 22, 2018. Playhouse Musical Director Christopher Leavy will accompany on piano. Audiences have just recently seen Ms. Titus in The Playhouse production of Some Enchanted Evening this past August, which featured an entire score of Rodgers and Hammerstein hits.
