The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosted more than 125 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF).

Theatre Communications Group reveals the recipients of the Plays for the People: In the Stacks initiative, an effort to support and promote new theatrical works.

McDaniel College theatre arts students perform in “Heathers The Musical,” written by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe. Performances are Thursday, March 2-Saturday, March 4, 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 4, 2 p.m., in WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland.

The Howard County Arts Council has announced Howard County's signature arts event! The 24th annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County, marking the Arts Council's 40th year (1981-2021), will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Jim Rouse Theatre for Performing Arts in Columbia.

Directed by theatre arts faculty member Gené Fouché, the performance will be broadcast on McDaniel College's student-run radio station, Green Terror Radio (WGTR), on Friday, April 30 and Thursday, May 6 at 7 p.m.

Totem Pole Playhouse's critically-acclaimed annual production of A Christmas Carol has received a "Best of the Best" Award from the American Bus Association (ABA) as one of the top 100 events in North America. The "Best of the Best" designation is an annual compendium of the 100 best events for group travel in the United States and Canada. The American Bus Association provides more than 600 million passenger trips annually on charters, tours, scheduled service and shuttles. Membership in the ABA includes motorcoach operators, tour operators, and tourism-related organizations. A committee of its members selects the top 100 events each year from hundreds of celebrations, festivals, fairs, performing arts presentations, regional commemorative events, and more. Totem Pole's production was submitted for consideration by Destination Gettysburg, the official marketing organization for Gettysburg and Adams County.

McDaniel College Theatre presents the Tony Award-winning musical 'Spring Awakening' directed by Theatre Arts department chair Elizabeth van den Berg, with Alison Shaffer serving as musical director and choreography by Julie Herber.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), an award-winning theatre dedicated to the creation and production of extraordinary theatre, presents A View from the Bridge, a tragedy in which the limits of family bonds and personal honor are tested. Written by Arthur Miller (The Crucible), A View from the Bridge focuses on the poverty of an American working class family comes face to face with the sheer destitution of their immigrant cousins, desperate to make a new life when an admirable longshoreman takes in two if his wife's Italian cousins who have been smuggled into the country. One falls in love with his niece and a 1950s plot becomes more topical than ever!
