New York Stage and Film has announced the early-career film and TV writers who have been selected to participate in the 2023 Filmmakers’ Workshop. The participants are Nancy Duff; Harrison Hamm; Drew Harper; Atticus Hoffman; Summera Howell; Anndi Jinelle Liggett; Allyson Morgan; Craig T. Williams; and G. Wilson. 

The Latiné Musical Theatre Lab, a home for developing and advocating for new works of latiné-written musical theatre, will bring up the teams of two new musicals in development to a week-long residency on the campus of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY with New York Stage and Film!

IATSE was able to notch a win for their members this week as a new touring contract was ratified. However, the news wasn’t all bright in the theatre world as the Public Theater became the latest major institution to announce layoffs of their staff - laying off 19%, and announcing a deeper restriction on programming for next season.

This past weekend, two big New York development programs got underway. This is the first summer season that New York Stage and Film has been completely separate from Vassar’s Powerhouse Theater, opening the opportunity for them each to do their own things.
