The Department of Theater at Lafayette College is committed to nurturing twenty-first century artists, scholars, and collaborators who grasp the multidisciplinary nature of theater as well as its historical legacies, global traditions, and contemporary challenges. Theater Department faculty share a dedication to teaching and learning initiatives that help students apply theatrical ideas and practice to analyzing visual, textual, and performative modes of expression and to understanding the world.

TCG Appoints Lisa L. Patterson as Director of Individual Giving

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, has announced the appointment of Lisa L. Patterson as its new director of individual giving. Patterson will partner with TCG’s executive-leadership team to create, implement, and measure a development plan to grow a million-dollar annual fundraising budget.

The Playwrights Realm, in partnership with law firm Dyer Harris LLP, announces playwright and performer Nkenna Akunna; costume designer Dina El-Aziz; actor and writer Isra Elsalihie; playwright, director, and scenographer Abhishek Majumdar; and composer Tidtaya Sinutoke (ฑิตยา สินุธก) as the recipients of the 2021 International Theatermakers Award (ITA).
Horizons Quartet Announces New Self Titled Album and Pre-release Show at Miller Symphony Hall

On June 25th, Horizons Quartet, will release their self-titled debut on PM Records. Co-founded by up saxophonist Dan Wilkins and pianist James Collins, the quartet's youngest members, and anchored by a pair of their jazz heroes, drummer Byron Landham and bassist Gene Perla, Horizons Quartet is the consummate endorsement of multigenerational collaboration.
