 Plays for New Audiences (PNA), the script licensing division for the Tony Award-winning® Children’s Theatre Company has announced the availability of Mesmerized: A Ben Franklin Science and History Mystery by Suzanne Maynard Miller.

Nutley Little Theatre presents A Christmas Carol by Michael Paller and directed by Rachel Rubin Ladutke. In Michael Paller's unique adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, renowned author Charles Dickens is visited by the spirit of himself as a young boy.  When The Child demands a story, Dickens is struck with inspiration.  He summons his family and friends, who have gathered for Christmas Eve dinner, up to his attic studio and enlists their help in performing the tale that is weaving his way through his brain.  And so the story unfolds, with the cast of nine playing more than 40 roles.

Brooklyn performance and civic space JACK announced an extension of Hoi Polloi's White on White

OBIE-winning theater company Hoi Polloi (Three Pianos; All Hands) returns to JACK with a peek inside the meeting of a white anti-racist group. As the members reckon with sacrifices they must make to live up to their principles, other forces begin to disrupt and unsettle their efforts. An uncanny ode to honesty, forgiveness, and accountability, this ensemble tour de force pulls the audience on a descent from the too-real to the sub-real.  

TFANA has extended the run of Alice Childress’s Wedding Band, directed by Awoye Timpo, to May 22. (The production, which began previews April 28—postponed from an original date of April 23 due to two COVID-19 cases—was formerly set to close May 15).

CreateTheater New Works Festival and JK Productions present OCEAN IN A TEACUP, a spiritual quest musical based on a true story. This Original Musical Set in India runs as part of CreateTheater New Works Festival, from April 28 through May 7, 2022, at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036).

This week The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, a $90,000 graduate school fellowship for outstanding immigrants and children of immigrants in the United States announced its 2022 Class of Fellows, which includes cellist Audrey Chen.

On April 7, 2022, the Board of Trustees of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation approved the awarding of Guggenheim Fellowships to a diverse group of 180 exceptional individuals. View all of this year's recipients.

TFANA will present Alice Childress’s Wedding Band. Director Awoye Timpo’s new staging, running April 23–May 15, brings Childress’s masterpiece to New York audiences for the first time since 1972, when it made its New York premiere in a production directed by Childress and Joseph Papp.
