Feature: Passion and Drive for Their Craft: An Interview with Studio Theatre's Production Apprentices
by Elliot Lanes
- February 17, 2023
Something I have said many times is that I wish audience members would fully realize the amount of work and the amount of people it takes to put on a production. The things I have heard in theatre lobbies are both scary and laughable at the same time. Things like 'Oh, I want a chance to crash that chandelier. It's just one button!' or 'Wow, that didn't look hard at all. I could do that easily'. Well folks, working in theatre is not an easy profession. It comes with lots of stress and long days but if you have the drive and passion, it can be very fulfilling.

Gainesville Theatre Alliance's WAITING FOR GODOT Opens Friday
by Julie Musbach
- November 07, 2018
According to a 2017 Timex survey, people spend a cumulative average of six months of their lives waiting in line and an average of 27 cumulative days waiting for a bus or train. Time is seen as immensely valuable to individuals in our culture, yet tends to be dependent on others. Searching for ways to fill our time with meaningful and necessary tasks, there tends to be a nearly constant state of waiting for the next task, waiting to get from one place to another, waiting for things to be right. The Gainesville Theatre Alliance production of Waiting for Godot, which opens Nov. 9, challenges the connections of people, time, and the meaning of life itself.

GTA's Repertory Company Members Try Their Hands As Storytellers, Educators And Innovators
by A.A. Cristi
- October 15, 2018
Storytelling has been used for generations to bring people together and bridge the gap of conversation between otherwise divided groups. Theatre is being used more and more as a way to integrate patrons as a community into the stories they need to hear. Even from a young age, there is a power behind the stories we are told, the stories we tell and the stories uncovered that were lost over time.
