Bachelor of Arts in Applied Music

Minor in Music


In this program, you will study practical skills, such as performance, composition, and technology— which will push your musical abilities further than you thought possible. You’ll also learn music theory and history to ensure you have a strong foundation from which to leap. Working one-on-one with professors, who are professional composers and highly regarded performers, you’ll perfect the skills you’ve been practicing all your life. Outside of the classroom, you’ll have your pick of musical ensembles to join—from Jazz to guitar to percussion to contemporary. If your talent is voice, you can join the Choral Union, which performs a variety of genres, or the Lachrimae, which is dedicated to music, costume, and dance from the Middle Ages and Renaissance era.

Park Theatre To Start Construction Next Month

The Park Theatre has given the go-ahead to Hutter Construction Corporation to start construction on the new performing arts center in Jaffrey. Following the final project approvals on November 29th, The Park Theatre and Hutter Construction signed contracts to begin the $3 million theatre construction. The project is funded by individual and foundation donations, New Hampshire tax credits and a loan from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development office.

Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra Launches Inaugural Season with Music Through Art

Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra (CCCO), the region's newest professional orchestra, announces Navigations, its inaugural full season of four performances, launching with Music Through Art, an immersive collaboration of art and music, on Sunday, September 30, 3 pm, at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 533 Main Street, Rt. 28, Harwich Port.  The event is a unique partnership with the Guild of Harwich Artists, presenting a program inspired and complemented by visual art.  The orchestra is conducted by Music Director Matthew Scinto.  A reception follows the concert with an opportunity to meet the artists, view their work, and meet the musicians.
