The Schwob School of Music of Columbus State University has become one of the leading and fastest-growing university-level music programs in the southeast. The accomplished artist faculty of the Schwob School of Music serve an internationally diverse student population, and the School’s effect on the cultural life of Columbus is everywhere apparent. In 2008-09 the Schwob School was awarded the Regents Teaching Excellence Award for Departments and Programs by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.
