The BYU-Idaho Department of Music strives to help our students become better disciples of Jesus Christ by developing:
musical abilities of expression, empathy, communication, collaboration, and creation to use in service to their families, communities, and the world
the highest standards of artistry, professionalism, and excellence in their chosen careers and in their lives
skills, abilities, and habits as music scholars that will allow them to be effective lifelong learners
The Department offers a full palate of degrees including performance, music education, jazz studies, and liberal arts degrees for students pursuing a variety of career options. We have with highly qualified faculty, including 28 full-time and over 35 adjunct faculty members. We foster a student-centered atmosphere of cooperative and synergistic learning, working together to help each student achieve the highest possible musical standards.
