Godspell: A Timeless Musical Experience will be staged at The Lesedi Theatre at Joburg Theatre from August 29 to September 1, 2024. Presented by Oakfields College's musical theatre and dance department, this production features a talented cast of students alongside guest stars Grant Towers as Judas and Raymond Skinner as Jesus, under the direction of Tracey Human and musical direction by Dale Ray. This modern interpretation of Stephen Schwartz's musical, based on the Gospel according to Matthew, blends parables with engaging rock, pop, and folk influences, continuing a legacy of breaking barriers in South African theatre.
