Join Kirsty, her chamber ensemble, and barrels of complimentary Webersburg wine at the Drama Factory. Kirsty will be releasing her debut EP in April and will be showcasing these original singles for first time in her home town of Somerset West. Join us for an evening of music all-composed by Kirsty, as well as some of your favourite songs. Kirsty's music is composed of a fusion of her classical training and her interest for the soulful sounds of jazz and R&B.
After studying Bachelor of Music (Cum Laude; 2016), and Master of Music Composition (Cum Laude; 2019), playing violin in the Stellenbosch University Orchestra, composing instrumental film music for award winning films, composing instrumental art music for classical ensembles such as the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, and making appearances as vocalist alongside producer Sloani, and lending her electric violin to events such as Forbes Women Africa Gala, Kirsty brings all her musical and personal experiences to tell you precious stories in her own vocal music fused between classical, R&B and pop sounds.
Kirsty is a vocalist, violinist, songwriter and composer. She comes from classical background, having played violin in University of Stellenbosch Symphony Orchestra and having obtained a BMus (Cum Laude) and MMus (Cum Laude) in composition; she comes from pop background, singing alongside South African music producer Sloani in their collaborative singles When You Come Around (on Expresso Morning Show) and Let's Start with Forever; and she comes from jazz background, singing for her Somerset College High School and Stellenbosch University jazz band. Kirsten has also composed music for award winning films such as the SAFTA award winning film The Water Dancers. She releases her vocal EP 'Feathers' in April 2019, a summary of all her musical influences and her personal stories.
