Just yesterday, Oscar winner & Eclipsed Tony Award nominee Lupita Nyong'o was joined by Eclipsed playwright and star of 'The Walking Dead' Danai Gurira and some of her Eclipsed costars for the caricature unveiling in honor of her Broadway debut in and recent Tony Award nomination!BroadwayWorld brings you photos from inside the special day below!

On May 4, the nominees flocked to the Paramount Hotel, where they met with the press for the first time since getting the big news. Mayor Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray visited the all-female, multi-ethnic, history-making cast of Eclipsed backstage after Friday's performance at the John Golden Theatre on Broadway. They asked the actors how they decompress after performing. Lupita Nyong 'o described how they take time to commune together before every performance and then again, after the show. The new American play ECLIPSED by Danai Gurira just began Broadway previews last night, starring Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o, Pascale Armand, Akosua Busia, Zainab Jah and Saycon Sengbloh. ECLIPSED, directed by Liesl Tommy, will open on March 6, 2016 on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 W. 45th Street). ECLIPSED marks a historic moment on Broadway: the first time the cast, director, and playwright are composed entirely of female artists, fitting for a production that so stunningly chronicles the experiences of a group of very resilient women. To celebrate, the show hosted some of the industry's other trailblazing and history-making women for the first preview. Producers Stephen C. Byrd and Alia Jones-Harvey recently that the critically acclaimed Broadway bound Eclipsed will today launch a campaign to bring 10,000 girls to see the show. Through the '10,000 Girls Campaign,' girls from the Tri-State area between ages 16 to 24, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience a Broadway show, will be given tickets to see Eclipsed.
