A re-imagined version of the 1921 musical SHUFFLE ALONG, one of the earliest stage hits starring, written and directed by African-Americans, opened on April 28 on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. The musical nabbed a total of 10 Tony nominations this year, including nods for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actor and Actress, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Direction, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. A re-imagined version of the 1921 musical SHUFFLE ALONG one of the earliest stage hits starring, written and directed by African-Americans, will open this week on Broadway. Working alongside such Tony-winning Broadway legends as Savion Glover, Audra McDonald, Billy Porter and Brian Stokes Mitchell are young performers making their debut on the Great White Way. Today on CBS, Maurice DuBois gave 'Sunday Morning' a peak backstage.

The Music Box Theatre box office (239 West 45th Street) opened earlier this week for tickets to Shuffle Along Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed, a new production that presents both the 1921 musical itself, and additionally details the events that catalyzed the songwriting team of Noble Sissle andEubie Blake, and librettists F.E.
