TV: THE LION KING's Thulisile Thusi Brings 'The Circle of Life' to STARS IN THE ALLEY

STARS IN THE ALLEY, presented by United Airlines, was presented earlier this week in Shubert Alley, between Broadway and 8th Avenue and 44th and 45th Streets. To add to the festivities leading up to the Tony Awards, the free outdoor concert in the heart of the Theatre District celebrated Broadway with star appearances and exciting performances from over 20 new shows and long-running favorites, accompanied by a live 12-piece orchestra.

On Thursday, January 14, Disney Theatrical Productions welcomed Oscar, Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winner Whoopi Goldberg (moderator of ABC's THE VIEW) to the cast of Broadway's landmark musical event, THE LION KING for one night only at the Minskoff Theatre. Goldberg appeared in a series of surprise cameos throughout the 8pm performance. The appearance marked a return for Goldberg to the legit stage and her Lion King roots, having originated the voice of Shenzi the Hyena more than 15 years ago in the 1994 Disney animated feature.
