Eric Idle is a British comedian, actor, writer, and musician who is best known for his work with the comedy group Monty Python. Born on March 29, 1943, in South Shields, England, Idle attended Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he became involved in the Cambridge Footlights, a student comedy troupe that has produced many famous comedians over the years.

David grew up in Stirling, Scotland attending the RSAMD from the age of 14 and went on to secure a place on the Acting course at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts from the age of 18.
In 2008 David co-founded Sell a Door Theatre Company, and in the same year was appointed the Artistic Director of the company, a title which he holds today.
David also works as a freelance actor, director and producer and is represented by Carolyn Cutler of Patrick Hambleton Management.
