Photo Flash: TRACES Celebrates One-Year Anniversary

TRACES, the show that turns circus on its head, will conclude its New York engagement September 2, 2012, to embark on a European tour this fall. Created by the Montreal-based troupe 7 Fingers, TRACES has been playing the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street) since July 2011. Originally intended as a 10-week limited engagement, the show opened to rave reviews, shifted to an open-ended run and, by the time of its final performance, will have played New York for over a year. Last night, August 9, the show celebrated its one-year anniversary. Check out photos from the event below!

TRACES, the urban circus that has been a hit with critics and audiences alike, will transition from a limited engagement to an open-ended run at New York's Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street). As previously reported, Hurricane Irene is heading to the East Coast this weekend, predicted to hit New York City hard beginning Saturday night, August 27, going into Sunday, August 28. Now declared a Category 2 hurricane further south in Virginia and the Carolinas, the storm is expected to weaken to a Category 1 by the time it hits the New York City area, with winds up to 90 mph. New York City is among the areas expected to experience the worst conditions on the norther east coast this weekend. Mayor Bloomberg has already ordered the evacuation of several hospital and nursing home facilities in the lower lying areas of the city downtown, and the evacuation of additional areas of Brooklyn and Staten Island are likely. All public transportation will be shut down in and our of New York tomorrow at 12:00pm, including the NYC Subway lines and buses.

TRACES Offers $25 Front Row Rush Tickets!

TRACES, the acclaimed show by the Montreal-based troupe 7 Fingers, will offer rush tickets for $25 beginning on opening night, August 8th. For opening night only, a limited amount of rush tickets will be available in the front row of the theatre. TRACES began previews Friday, July 29th at New York's Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street) and opens Monday, August 8th at 8pm.
