SHREK THE MUSICAL will end its run at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane today, Sunday 24 February 2013.

DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions today announced that SHREK THE MUSICAL will end its run at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on Sunday 24 February 2013.

According to the Daily Mail, Shrek - The Musical is set to close at the West End's Drury Lane Theatre in February 2013 to make way for the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical adaptation, directed by Sam Mendes and produced by Warner Bros Theatre Ventures and Neal Street Productions.

Carley Stenson's first performance in the role of Princes Fiona in SHREK THE MUSICAL at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, is tonight, May 23. She takes over for Kimberley Walsh. SHREK THE MUSICAL also stars Dean Chisnall as Shrek, Richard Blackwood as Donkey and Neil McDermott as Lord Farquaad.

Carley Stenson has begun rehearsals for the role of Princess Fiona in SHREK THE MUSICAL® at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Carley's first performance will be on May 23, 2012. SHREK THE MUSICAL® currently stars Dean Chisnall as Shrek, Richard Blackwood as Donkey, Neil McDermott as Lord Farquaad and Kimberley Walsh as Princess Fiona. Award winning SHREK THE MUSICAL® will celebrate its first year in the West End on May 6, 2012. To mark the first anniversary, SHREK THE MUSICAL® will open its doors to the public for a FREE, ogre-sized, family fete at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane on May 6, 2012. There will be party games, competitions, sweet treats, storytelling, theatre tours and opportunities to meet the cast from 11am to 2pm.

Dean Chisnall will play Shrek and Neil McDermott will play Lord Farquaad in the West End stage hit SHREK THE MUSICAL® from February 29, 2012. They will join Richard Blackwood who will continue in the role of Donkey in the hit musical at London's Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Kimberley Walsh will play the role of Princess Fiona in Shrek The Musical from 5 October 2011. Amanda Holden's pregnancy, announced today, means that she performs as Princess Fiona for the final time on Monday 3 October. Kimberley Walsh takes over the role two months earlier than originally planned.

An additional 600,000 tickets for SHREK THE MUSICAL are now on sale as the booking period is extended until October 21, 2012.
