Nellie and the Women of Blackwell 2020

Infinite Variety Productions, a theater company dedicated to spotlighting women who have gone unnoticed in history, and Wildrence, an immersive design studio and New York's dynamic storytelling space, will collaborate to present the immersive non-fiction production of Nellie and the Women of Blackwell, January 30-March 7, 2020. This world premiere breaks the barrier between history and present day and provides a space for the lives and words of the Blackwell Asylum’s lost women to live on in a purposeful way.



The year is 1887, and young stunt reporter Nellie Bly is handed an impossible assignment—to infiltrate New York City’s most respectable insane asylum and discover what secrets lies behind its closed doors. Based on the exposé that shocked the world, "Ten Days in the Mad-house," IVP and Wildrence's newest show, Nellie and the Women of Blackwell, gives you the opportunity to join Nellie as she navigates the halls of Blackwell Asylum. What will you see? Who will you meet? And more importantly—how will you get out?
