Cork's iconic Folk Festival is set to return for its 45th year, running from October 2nd to 6th, 2024. The event promises an extraordinary mix of folk legends and exciting new talent, celebrating the best of traditional and contemporary folk music.

After making a stop in Ottawa, Michael Healey's razor-sharp politically charged satire 1979 begins previews in Niagara-on-the-Lake on May 20. Several unplugged performances of the Eric Coates-directed production are scheduled at the Court House Theatre and Royal George Theatre before the production settles in the Jackie Maxwell Studio Theatre beginning October 1.

General Director Placido Domingo announced today that James Conlon has renewed his contract as the company's Richard Seaver Music Director through the end of the 2020/21 season. Currently celebrating his tenth anniversary with the company, Mr. Conlon has conducted 314 performances to date for LA Opera. When he returns to the podium of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on January 28 to conduct The Abduction from the Seraglio, he will have conducted 50 different operas at LA Opera.
