Echo (Every Cold-Hearted Oxygen) 2024

Kris Nelson will assume the role of Festival Director for Sydney Festival from 2026 to 2029, leading the festival into its milestone 50th edition in 2026.

Star of United 93, The Kite Runner and The Crown, Khalid Abdalla, in his writing debut, has created an intricate and playful solo show, inspired by his involvement in the Egyptian revolution of 2011, and his experiences of the counter-revolution that followed.

In 2024 LIFT, London's biennial international festival of theatre, welcomed over 10,000 audience members, across eight venues connecting international artists and Londoners with bold new work. After a festival with six and a half years in the post, Kris Nelson will step down as Artistic Director/CEO at the end of August.

The Royal Court Theatre and LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre) have announced a further nine artists who will perform in the world premiere of ECHO (Every Cold-Hearted Oxygen) written by critically acclaimed Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour.

The Royal Court Theatre and LIFT have announced five of the fifteen artists who will perform in the world premiere of ECHO (Every Cold-Hearted Oxygen) which will run at the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from Saturday 13 - Saturday 27 July 2024 with opening night on Wednesday 17 July.
