Pay What You Want Performance of BLUES FOR MISTER CHARLIE at Loft Ensemble

Loft Ensemble in Sherman Oaks has announced a Pay What You Want performance of James Baldwin's Blues for Mister Charlie, currently running through April 7. Half of all box office monies from the Sunday, March 31 performance (7pm curtain) will be donated to the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation (ETLF).
The Williams Project presents BLUES FOR MISTER CHARLIE

The Williams Project, in partnership with Emerald City Bible Fellowship and Franklin High School, presents James Baldwin's classic American play Blues for Mister Charlie. Baldwin's rarely produced masterpiece explores race and violence in the United States with honesty, music, dark humor, and compassion. Blues for Mister Charlie will run September 6 - 10, 2017 at Emerald City Bible Fellowship and September 13 - 17, 2017 at Franklin High School. Opening night is September 7, 2017. Each performance of Blues for Mister Charlie will be followed by a facilitated discussion, featuring leadership from the community hosting the performance and Williams Project artists. The City College of New York (CCNY) and its Department of Theatre and Speech are launching the New Haarlem Arts Theatre (NHAT), a new professional theater company in residence at Aaron Davis Hall, which will produce its first season in the summer of 2011. The objective is to establish a professional theater uptown that will rank among the best in the country and to produce bold theatrical works that express the true history, culture, and diversity of America.
