Rise and shine, BroadwayWorld! It is December 12, 2025 and it's time to catch up on all of the theatrical happenings you may have missed in the last 24 hours.

Before Lea Salonga stepped out on the stage of the Strathmore this past Saturday evening, I could feel the anticipation building. Soon, a very savvy orchestra assembled and lightly “tuned up” as the audience awaited the entrance of Lea Salonga, --stage, screen, recording and concert performer par excellence. Ms. Salonga finally appeared to loud applause in a beautifully tuxedoed -tailored, colorful pantsuit.

As part of Disney's Holiday Magic Tour, Stitch brought an extra dose of surprise to audiences by making his debut during the curtain call of Aladdin on Broadway. Check out a photo and video from the moment here!

Tickets for Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” the first North American touring production of the musical presented by Disney in over 25 years, at the Overture Center, will go on sale to the public on Friday, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m.

Potted Panto returns to Wilton’s Music Hall for a triumphant third season and once again confirms why it remains a beloved fixture of the festive calendar. Straight No Chaser has been a holiday tradition with many repeat attenders because their show doesn’t easily fit into a preset gift box. They are either a comedy group that harmonizes extremely well or an a cappella group that thrives because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. If you take away either skill, SNC would ferment quicker than eight day old eggnog.

Junior Theater Festival Productions has unveiled programming and the lineup of performers who will take part in the 2026 Junior Theater Festival Atlanta & 2026 Junior Theater Festival West.

The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center is kicking off the new year with a January lineup featuring magic, music, comedy and theatrical tributes, from interactive illusions and soulful Motown harmonies to Broadway favorites and classical favorites.

The North American Tour of THE GREAT GATSBY will star stage veterans Jake David Smith as Jay Gatsby and Senzel Ahmady as Daisy Buchanan.  Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach will present a full month of programming in December, including performances by Lea Salonga, Straight No Chaser, Jeremy Piven, Ali Siddiq, and the multimedia work The Just and the Blind.
