BWW Review: WAITING FOR GODOT at Irish Classical Theatre
by Michael Rabice - Jan 27, 2022
After a near two year absence, live audiences have returned to Irish Classical Theatre. And the production that inaugurated the company is back again, nestled into it's home stage, which may never have been dreamt of 30 years ago. Irishman Samuel Beckett's WAITING FOR GODOT is on the boards and audiences can once again ponder it's genius and complexity. Written in French in 1953 and later translated into English by Beckett himself, GODOT is undoubtedly one of his most produced and debated pieces.

by Mark Janicello - Jan 27, 2022
KIN at Sadler's Well Peacock Theater. Barely Methodical Troupe's Director, Ben Duke, together with 6 brilliantly talented performers, and a crack technical team have created magic with almost nothing and turn the nearly-empty stage into the arena for one of the most breathtaking theatrical events that this reviewer has ever seen. BWW Review: OUR TOWN at Theatre Memphis
by Kevin Shaw - Jan 20, 2022
What a conundrum for an artist. Is it more effective to deliver art to an audience by any means necessary or to have the 'vehicle' for displaying it match the work itself? For example, when it comes to the theatre, can a whisper ever truly be a whisper? Such is the dilemma for any theatre since 1938 producing Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN.

Join Jude and Scotty for what could loosely be called a play – think Waiting for Godot meets Flying High – that is not only full of shameless gags but sees them confronting their greatest fear. Intrigued? Don't be. Just buy a ticket.

Student Blog: My Three Favorite Plays I've Read This Year, and Why Everyone Should Read Them
by Student Blogger: Meredith Muirhead - Nov 23, 2021
In the same way that a satisfying Thanksgiving dinner requires a great deal of attention to detail (cook the turkey at the right temperature, put just the right amount of salt in the pie crust, arrange the hors d’oeuvres in just the right way), a full theatre education requires a great deal of independent play reading. Sure, we’re all assigned plays to read in our classes, but those are only the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more to explore in terms of theatrical writing than Williams, Mamet, Miller, or Shakespeare, and not all of those works, if any, will be taught in most college theatre classes. College is the time where all of us are really finding ourselves, and it only makes sense to be finding out what material draws us in so that we can work on what we truly connect with.
