The Public Theater Announces World Premiere Audio Play SHADOW/LAND

The Public Theater announced that the world premiere audio play, SHADOW/LAND, written by Tow Foundation Playwright-in-Residence Erika Dickerson-Despenza has been added to The Public’s spring digital season. Directed by Lilly Award winner Candis C. Jones, SHADOW/LAND will premiere on Tuesday, April 13 and be available for free on-demand streaming.

Actors from Broadway and London’s West End are teaming up for the Shakespeare@ Home, all-free radio play Julius Caesar, which launches Monday February 22nd at 7pm EST. The Tony Nominated actor Patrick Page (Hadestown) stars in the title role with Jordan Barbour (Broadway’s The Inheritance) as Brutus and Keith Hamilton Cobb (American Moor) as Cassius.

Should circumstances allow, they will produce The Tempest, William Shakespeare’s late masterpiece of magic, power, and forgiveness; alongside The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington by James Ijames.

David Mamet’s provocative drama Oleanna, directed by Lucy Bailey stars Rosie Sheehy and Jonathan Slinger and is running at Theatre Royal Bath’s Ustinov Studio from 3 December to 22 December and again from 4 January to 16 January 2021. Reduced capacity at the Ustinov Studio will allow for an audience of 60 persons per performance.

Seattle Shakespeare Cancels Remaining Plays for 20-21 Season

Today Seattle Shakespeare Company announced that due to the ongoing public health crisis, it will cancel all its live productions planned for the theatre’s 30th Anniversary season. The canceled productions of Volpone and Much Ado About Nothing join the previously announced cancelations of Richard II and Long Day’s Journey into Night.
