After what will be a 23-month intermission, The Muny's 103rd season will open with the Muny premiere of Smokey Joe's Cafe, followed by The Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, On Your Feet! and Chicago.

After a year of virtual productions, Shakespeare by the Sea has announced its return to live performances at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro. Following all LA County Health Department safety protocols, SBTS is presenting the two shows originally slated for summer 2019.

Mia Katigbak, co-founder and actor-manager of NAATCO, today announced that NAATCO will present remote live performances of the US Premiere of a new play by Caryl Churchill, What If If Only, realized by Les Waters and Jared Mezzocchi. The performances will stream Monday June 7th through Saturday June 12th nightly at 7:00 pm EST.

Karen Ascoe will be joining the previously announced Oliver Ford Davies (Graham Greene) and Stephen Boxer (Kim Philby) as Rufa Philby. 

New dates have been added to Original Theatre Company's first live stage production since March 2020.  The UK Tour of Ben Brown's new political drama, A SPLINTER OF ICE, will open on 8 June in Malvern and will tour until 31 July, with extra dates in York and Cambridge.

The Public Theater will debut the world premiere audio play SHADOW/LAND, written by Tow Foundation Playwright-in-Residence Erika Dickerson-Despenza, on Tuesday, April 13. Play On Shakespeare today announced their spring 2021 season. Play On Shakespeare’s mission is to enhance the understanding of Shakespeare’s plays in performance for theatre professionals, students, teachers, and audiences by engaging with contemporary translations and adaptations.

On March 15th, Shakespeare@ Home will present the fourth and final episode of the free radio play adaptation of Julius Caesar at 7PM EST.

The Public Theater and WNYC Studios will debut the bilingual audio adaptation of Romeo y Julieta on Thursday, March 18. Featuring Lupita Nyong’o and Juan Castano as the star-crossed lovers, this world premiere production has been adapted by Saheem Ali and Ricardo Pérez González, based on the Spanish translation by Alfredo Michel Modenessi.
