It is the charge of the Broadway designer to transport the audience into the world of a show, whether it be Great Depression-era New York City or outside of the Casa Rosada. In our new series, Broadway by Design, BroadwayWorld will be shining a spotlight on the stellar designs of this Broadway season, show by show. Today, we continue the series with Scott Pask and Suttirat Anne Larlarb, who acted as scenic and costume designers for Broadway's fresh, new musical,  WAITRESS.

In the lead-up to the April 24th Broadway opening of Waitress at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, DMI Soundtracks is proud to announce the release of a forthcoming original cast album for the production, with the cast and band hitting the studio in early May.  The album will be distributed by Warner-Elektra-Atlantic Corporation.

Sara Bareilles, who saved the day at a recent preview of her new Broadway musical WAITRESS, has great news for the show's record-breaking audiences.

Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller has taken Broadway by storm. From her knockout performance as Carole King in Beautiful, to now turning heads as Jenna in Waitress, Mueller can do it all. And her credits don't stop there.

Audience members who attend the new Broadway musical WAITRESS will not only get a feast for the eyes, but a feast for the nose as well!

Audiences at tonight's preview of WAITRESS got to see a very special performance when part of the set for the diner stopped working. While the show was paused so that the crew could make the necessary adjustments - the show's Grammy nominated composer/lyricist Sara Bareilles got on stage to sing a cut song from the show as well as 'Part of Your World' - a Disney classic by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.

Can't wait for Waitress? Neither can we. It's just weeks until Sara Bareilles new musical begins previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre and the company is hard at work to get the show ready for Broadway. We stopped by the rehearsal room earlier this week, where we caught Ogie's big song, 'I Love You Like a Table,' performed by Christopher Fitzgerald and Kimiko Glenn.
