CAGNEY, the new hit musical about Hollywood's tough guy in tap shoes, just recently welcomed Broadway's Jeffry Denman  to the company.  Denman is best known for starring in the original company of Irving Berlin's White Christmas for which he was nominated for a Fred & Adele Astaire Award. He was Munkustrap in the final cast of Cats (original Broadway production) and was featured in the original company of The Producers which led him to pen the memoir, A Year with The Producers. 

The Baryshnikov Arts Center will present two BAC Salon concerts in November, both in the intimate Howard Gilman Performance Space. On Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 7:30pm, BAC and Composers Now co-present Dialogues with Margaret Brouwer, Esperanza Spalding, and Du Yun and performances by Amy Schwartz Moretti, Blair McMillen, Michael Lipsey, Du Yun,and String Noise, moderated by Composers Now founder, artistic director, and composer Tania Leon.

The Grammy Award-winning Harlem Quartet teams up with Cuban piano virtuoso and composer Aldo Lopez-Gavilan Today, October 21, 8 PM for a program of jazz standards plus original jazz compositions by Aldo Lopez-Gavilan.  The concert takes place at Wayne State University's Schaver Music Recital Hall, located at 480 W. Louis Karchin's Jane Eyre, a full-length opera in three acts with a libretto by Diane Osen based on Charlotte Bronte's novel, will receive its world premiere today, October 20, 7:30pm with a second performance on Saturday, October 22, 8pm at The Kaye Playhouse (Hunter College).  Jane Eyre is Karchin's second opera, composed in 2014, following his critically acclaimed one-act comic opera Romulus.   The work draws on a cast of 9 singers, an orchestra of 34 musicians, and chorus.  The production coincides with the 200th anniversary year of the birth of writer Charlotte Bronte.

Everybody will get in the holiday mood when the stage production of the beloved musical IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS plays at the Orpheum Theater November 15 through 20, as part of the Omaha Performing Arts Broadway Series.

Hard to believe, but Kritzerland turned 6 on Sunday September 4 at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal. Bruce Kimmel and his record company Kritzerland began their series of concerts at the Gardenia for the first year, then moved to Vitello's with Michael Sterling and onto the Federal four years ago. Kimmel and Kritzerland are joined at the hip; it's his brainchild ... and he brings all of his ingenious theatricality and cleverness to each show. This anniversary show was over.the.moon great with terribly eclectic, funny numbers and some absolutely wonderful talent. On board were steadies Sharon McNight, Nick Santa Maria, Ilene Graff and hubbie Ben Lanzarone, Jenna Lea Rosen, Sami Staitman and special appearance by composer Richard M. Sherman. Newcomers Marc Ginsburg, Reagan Pasternak and little Hayley Shukiar joined 'Guy Haines' for a heartfelt and laugh-filled concert. Wonderful Richard Allen served as musical director and accompanist for most of the songs throughout the 90-minute set.
