by Molly Tracy - Oct 6, 2016
When the Zimmerli's curators first devised two complementary exhibitions of American art titled Circa 1966 - one focusing on prints, the other on paintings and sculpture - the intention was to commemorate the museum's golden anniversary by spotlighting key works created around the time of its founding. New Musical GREENWOOD Gets Workshop with NYC Creative Team; Reading Set for Sunday
by BWW News Desk - Sep 19, 2016
Greenwood is an original musical comedy about recapturing the vitality of lost youth. Following the journey of a group of teenagers who meet at summer camp, Greenwood explores the many choices of youth and young adulthood and the joys and pains of discovering and staying true to who you truly are. The title comes from the name of the summer camp where the protagonists first met-a very special place whose magic is not of the supernatural variety, but, rather, comes from the power of acceptance, creative freedom, and love. Greenwood enjoyed an 8 performance run at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2011. GCPA is thrilled to work with the Greenwood team to move it into its next phase!
BWW Review: Bard SummerScape Tackles Mascagni's Little-Known IRIS
by Richard Sasanow - Jul 28, 2016
It probably would have been worth the trip to Bard SummerScape's production of Pietro Mascagni's IRIS—last heard at the Met in 1931--simply to make the acquaintance of soprano Talise Trevigne. Through much suffering and indignity, Trevigne sang the title role in a luxurious, plush-voiced, physical performance that made the most of the score by the composer who will always be known for CAVALLERIA RUSTIANA, that signpost of verismo opera. She's a find, and I hope to hear her again.
