La Secretaría de Cultura del Gobierno de México, el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (Inbal) y la Secretaría de Cultura de la Ciudad de México celebraron el 30 aniversario de Tambuco Ensamble de Percusiones de México (Alfredo Bringas, Miguel González, Raúl Tudón y Ricardo Gallardo) en el Palacio de Bellas Artes. 

Director Carissa Licciardello presents David Finnigan’s (Playwright) SCENES FROM THE CLIMATE ERA with a simplicity that allows the series of stories told by five performers to be the focus of the work. 

Over 200 guests walked into the Weill Terrace Room at Carnegie Hall in New York City to experience Ella Spira’s Global Landscapes Retrospective on March 28th and 29th. See photos from inside the event.

The Japanese premiere of Wuthering Heights, a musical adaptation of the classic Emily Bronte novel, opens today (February 2nd) in Kyoto. A poster for the show is shown here. The show is the only stage adaptation of Wuthering Heights that has received an endorsement from the Bronte Society, while Herbert Kretzmer (lyricist for the phenomenally successful Les Miserables) has described it as a 'great show', with music that has 'the breadth and sweep of a great novel and a romantic intensity not heard for many generations'. The novel is one of the most popular English novels in Japan.

As part of its current 60th Anniversary Performing Arts Season, Japan Society proudly presents The Room Nobody Knows, written and directed by Kuro Tanino, in a production from his company Niwa Gekidan Penino. This production plays 5 performances only, January 8 - 12 at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street), as part of The Public Theater's 2014 Under the Radar Festival. Legendary American actress, director, singer, producer, composer, philanthropist and activist Barbra Streisand received an honorary doctor of philosophy degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The ceremony took place earlier today, June 17, during the 76th Hebrew University International Board of Governors Meeting. Check out photos of Streisand accepting the honor below!
